This my attempt at starting a blog which has been inspired by the various blogs that I read and follow nearly each day. I work as a Engineer and like to call myself an Ingineer, sounds better to me. I do not consider myself a creative writer or a good speller, but a blog will be a good way to create a ‘diary’ of my thoughts, adventures, struggles, and other random stuff that I am willing to share with others. In addition, my boyfriend and I are planning on moving to the Bay Area in the near future. This blog will provide a way for me to share with my family and friends our adventure and keep them up-to-date on what is going on in our lives. Lastly, I look forward to connecting with other bloggers out there that I have read and related to in some way.
So here it goes… my blah blah blog.

I read your comment on the other blog so I came here. As I don’t have a blog but have considered it, I understood what you were saying there.
Just write what you want and you should be okay.
I have noticed the popularity contest thing even though I am more of a reader than a commenter myself. Among groups of bloggers, it’s like the drama club vs. the chess club. Everyone is oh so important but what really defines importance?
I will say that this competitiveness is mostly lacking from the addiction blogs that I read frequently. Those people are just trying to stay alive. Sure they want attention too but their minds aren’t usually on comment counts.

Welcome to the blog world! I could relate to some of what you said on wino’s blog. Sometimes I will read a zillion blogs without leaving a single comment because I just don’t have anything to add. It’s not a good feeling when you feel like you HAVE to say something, you know? Anyway, welcome and I hope you have a good time blogging!

Glad to hear feedback from both of you. I am finally giving this blog thing a try and I am going to focus on the real reasons I want to do this and not the popularity contest or amount of comments I get. At the same time I am going to try and comment more, even to some of the more ‘popular’ bloggers and not be such a wuss. I should let people know I am a reader rather then ’stalk’ them, let them know what I have liked about their writing, adventures, and other stuff.
